Giving

One in 4 people in Nepal suffers from some form of mental illness. Unfortunately, only 10% of people have access to mental healthcare. People with serious mental illness live subhuman lives due to a lack of much-needed mental health care. To increase access to mental health care, the Institute of Mental Health (NIOMH), a non-profit organization, has been working in Nepal since 2021. We are committed to integrating the six pillars of mental health ( https://www.niomh.org ) and have already been working on advocacy and awareness besides starting a mental health center in eastern Chitwan, Nepal. Eventually, we aim to establish a tertiary-care level mental health Center, to facilitate access for harder-to-reach populations and provide services to peripheral regions of the country.

We seek to raise funding to run an Integrated Mental Health Center ( IMHC) in Eastern Chitwan, that has been implementing community-based mental health programs and quality psychiatric care, including psychotherapy and counseling. NIOMH is collaborating with Health Foundation Nepal, USA, to raise this funding support. The money you donate will go to provide free or highly subsidized mental health care for people in dire health needs. Your contribution can impact many lives waiting for quality mental health care in Nepal.

With gratitude,
